CGR-list: Genious licenses

Dear CGR,

Biochemistry is contemplating buying licenses for Genious Pro  
software: a package that manages various aspects of both protein and  
nucleic acid sequences. In part this is a response to changes in the  
Vector NTI license, and because Genious offers quite a nice collection  
of tools and interfaces in its own right.

It seems to me that there could be a wider interest in this software  
and I wonder if you could let me know if you are interested, at least  
in principle. In general, the more licences we buy, the cheaper each  
becomes. Furthermore, if there is enough interest, we may be able to  
get a University-wide license covering all sites.

More information about Genious can be found at http:// 
www.geneious.com/ including a months free trial of the Pro version.  
Genious is Java based and so will run on Windows, Mac and Linux boxes.
